OUR COMPANY AND CULTURE
Markup was created in 2012 by two ambitious software developers, Barry and Calum. Originally working out of a home garage, each holding multiple responsibilities, the guys had their hands full pretty quickly with some big name fashion clients!
Flash forward to 2019, where we are now a team of 20+ people working in central Glasgow - thankfully out of the garage and into a bright and spacious office! We may be smaller than some of our competitors, but we’re a specialist team with a distinct culture built on collaboration, trust and a passion for the product/industry. Barry and Calum are still around and you’ll find them sitting in the office with the rest of the team.
It’s always difficult to describe an office ‘culture’, as those working with us will help to shape and nurture our culture! With that in mind we look to employ the best talent; people who share our passion and drive. We do our best to make sure the team can share ideas, suggestions and feedback openly and are actively working on ways to allow staff to progress and open up opportunities.
We know we may not be able to compete with some of the larger organisations when it comes to huge offices, stacks on stacks bonuses and benefits like sending you all to Barbados once a year (yet!), but we can offer an environment where you’re listened to and valued. Somewhere where we encourage our team to help us understand how we can be the best employer possible!
